A one-of-a-kind hotel experience in a preserved seaside village. Sogndalstrand Cultural Hotel is located in the protected coastal village of Sogndalstrand, about 30 kilometres south of Egersund. Once a busy trading post during the age of sailing ships, the village is today one of the best-preserved historic communities along the coast. The hotel occupies beautifully restored wooden buildings from the 19th century, where history and hospitality go hand in hand in a warm and personal atmosphere. The hotel consists of 11 different houses spread along the old main street, which serves as the hotel’s open-air “lobby”. Former shops, warehouses, tailor’s houses and boathouses have been given new life, each with its own character. The hotel lies directly on National Cycle Route 1, the Coastal Route (Kystruta), surrounded by dramatic coastal scenery, open sea and small bays.
