Holsingsetra – a Traditional Norwegian Summer Farm After a long climb, the landscape opens up into mountain meadows, wetlands and open countryside. Nestled beside a small river, Holsingsetra is a traditional Norwegian summer farm where cows, sheep, pigs and hens graze freely during the summer grazing season. During the four weeks of active summer farming, visitors may meet the dairymaids and experience local traditions, including homemade sour cream porridge. Holsingsetra offers simple accommodation in a unique and peaceful setting. Outside the summer farming period, overnight stays are still possible, but guests must arrange access in advance by contacting the host at +47 995 24 285 to receive a key. There is no mobile phone coverage at the summer farm and no possibility to charge phones or e-bikes, so guests should come prepared. Food supplies can often be arranged upon request. As one of six mountain farms in Snåsa open to visitors, Holsingsetra offers an authentic and memorable experience along the Trøndelag Grand Tour.
