Bénesse-Maremne sits just inland from the Landes coast, in the pine forest belt that runs almost unbroken from the Gironde estuary to the Basque border.
A dedicated cycle path now connects the village directly to Capbreton, joining the wider network that runs from Tarnos through Ondres and on toward Biscarrosse — largely flat, shaded by maritime pines, and built for exactly the kind of easy, all-day riding this coast is known for.
Just to the south, the Marais d'Orx nature reserve draws a gentle detour through wetland trails with distant views to the Pyrenees on clear days.
This is Vélodyssée territory: no cols, no real elevation, but a dense and genuinely useful network of paths linking beach towns, pine forest, and marshland, ideal for riders looking to cover distance without looking for gradient.
