Andratx sits where Mallorca's Serra de Tramuntana — a UNESCO World Heritage mountain range — drops into the sea, making it a natural southwestern base for exploring the range by bike.
The first climb out of town, Coll de Sa Gramola, is a steady introduction along the coastal MA-10 toward Estellencs, with sea views opening as the road gains height.
From the harbour town of Port d'Andratx, a dry-stone route runs out toward Sant Elm and the silhouette of Sa Dragonera island, while inland roads climb through Es Capdellà and Galilea into quieter Tramuntana villages.
Further north, the roads toward Valldemossa and Sóller carry the same winter traffic of professional teams that has made Mallorca a fixture of the pre-season calendar for decades — riders can string together a full Tramuntana traverse from here, or keep to shorter coastal loops around Camp de Mar and the cove at Cala Llamp.
